Youth Academy
Working alongside the musical leadership of the Brass Band of the Treasure Valley, the YBBTV is an auditioned-ensemble that aspires to inspire young brass and percussion musicians in our community, offering them a unique opportunity to grow and flourish in the traditional British Brass Band setting under the batons of Brittany Brings and Jeff Paradis. This opportunity is open to musicians who are 14-20 years old.
Auditions are required to participate in the ensemble. Interested students should fill out BOTH the interest form and register for an audition date. Audition dates for this year are:
Saturday, November 1st at Centennial High School
Thursday, November 6th at Ridgevue High School
Saturday, November 8th at Centennial High School
Thursday, November 13th at Ridgevue High School
If accepted, TUITION is $175. To secure an audition slot, a $40 deposit is required, and it will either be applied to your tuition or refunded if you are not offered a seat. If you forfeit an offered seat, then you also forfeit your deposit. We accept checks, cash, and Venmo.
The Ensemble will perform a concert in February alongside the Brass Band of the Treasure Valley and during our Youth Academy week on May 9th, 2026
The YBBTV Academy is a weekend experience targeted toward young musicians and offering them a chance to experience the traditional British Brass Band setting. This opportunity is open to musicians who are 14-20 years old, and French horn players are welcome!
Participation requires band director nomination, and videos may be requested for chair placement. The cost for participation is $75 and may be paid via check, cash, or Venmo.
Dates for the Youth Academy will be communicated in early 2026.
